Chains for Tracks are designed for tracked Skid Steers and Mini Excavators which have rubber tracks in the 4 sizes we have available.

14 Chains come in a set. Which equals to 7 chains per side.

It takes one person about 15-20 minutes to install Chains for Tracks on a brand-new set of tracks.

Count the treads around your track and divide by 7 (the number of chains per side) to find the spacing for each chain. Install each chain spaced evenly around the track.

Chains for Tracks tightens from end to end (from C-Clamp to C-Clamp) across the tracks.
Be careful not to cross thread the hex nut when tightening the bolt. Tighten each bolt until it is snug.
Yes, you will need to use a mallet or a pry bar to help snug up the inner C-Clamp onto the inner edge of the track when the tracks are new (due to the thickness of new tracks). The outer C-Clamp which goes on the outside edge of the track will be tightened with the bolt. Please see our instructional video for a demonstration of this quick process.
Chains for Tracks leaves shallow marks on the rubber but does not damage the tracks beyond the normal wear and tear tracks receive from regular use driving over rocks, concrete, etc.
Yes, but like all chains, Chains for Tracks will wear out more quickly the more they are driven over pavement.

Chains for Tracks do not work with some ASV tracked machines please contact us before you make a purchase on any ASV machines . Multi Bar track patterns work but they aren’t ideal with Chains for Tracks, they make the machine vibrate when driving on a hard surface. In packed snow they will have less vibration.

All other skid steer track treads work well, including the zigzag pattern, hex pattern, premium c-pattern, h-pattern, standard-duty c-pattern, block pattern, XHP track turf pattern and block pattern. Please contact us if you are unsure about a tread pattern.

The C-Clamp thickness is 1/4″ on all sides. The sidewall is 1/4″. The underside of the C-Clamp (the part that goes under the track) is 2 1/4-2 1/2″. The upperside of the C-Clamp (part that goes over the clamp on the treadside) is 2″. Make sure your machine has enough clearance for these measurements.

Tip: (With the machine off) Running your hand from above along the inside portion of your track that runs parallel with the cab will help you check for clearance for your machine.

After correctly installing and driving with chains for tracks for a short period of time, it is recommended that all bolts are re-checked for tightness. It is recommended that the Chains for Tracks are checked every day, making sure all bolts are tight and everything is properly attached and centered. With heavier use, check them throughout the day.
Chains for Tracks products are warrantied against manufacture defect for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase with proof of purchase. This warranty excludes any damage from normal wear and tear, improper use, or extreme use at the discretion of Chains for Tracks.

We offer chain sets for ASV, however they need to be custom made so shipping will take 5-7 extra business days than usual. We are in the process of manufacturing smaller sets for walk behind tracked machines.
